PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing Heath challenges.
International development and global health represent one of the greatest opportunities for the impact of digital technologies on a global scale. Unfortunately, new technologies, approaches and tools are emerging daily into a fragmented and immature digital health market landscape that currently limits their promise to transform country health systems and accelerate and amplify progress towards national and global health goals.
The Center of Digital and Data Excellence (CoDE) is working on a project funded by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to develop, implement, use, and evaluate interoperable health information systems to achieve HIV/AIDS and TB epidemic control through improved health informatics policy, governance, workforce capacity, and systems under PEPFAR.
Under this award, PATH is working with CDC’s Health Informatics Team (HIT) to implement several organizational objectives including establishing the necessary policy, governance, and standards frameworks needed to support development of e-Health strategies, building effective information systems, and a skilled workforce. The HIT Technical Assistance Platform (TAP) project is a step towards achieving a digital public health future.
PATH seeks an in-country coordinator (ICC) in DRC to coordinate the CDC digital HIS implementation activities under the TAP project. Some illustrative activities that fall under this project include Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system development, deployment and maintenance, standards-based interoperability of information systems including laboratory and EMR, capacity building in data governance, data privacy, security and confidentiality, software development and project management.
