Background
In the troubled context of communities with different interests of e.g. farmers (arable or cattle/goat), fishermen and hunters, and in an increasingly restricted biodiversity on the breathtaking high plateau Itombwe of Minembwe in South Kivu. In doing so, you will contribute to the creation of peace structures, conflict resolution and the empowerment of traumatised youth.
Our partner organisation Association Paysanne pour le développement intégré au Sud-Kivu (APDIK) frees people from their emotional burden, integrates them back into their community and has a keen interest in updating methods in conflict transformation, taking into account the traditional values and mechanisms of conflict communities. She is looking for a:n psychologist:in trauma healing to strengthen the skills of her staff and to pave new ways; to accompany traumatised people and to make transformation of conflicts between communities a reality. Residence is Bukavu, with regular service trips to Minembwe-Centre, APDIK's service headquarters and headquarters: in the middle and high plateaus of the Mitumba Mountains, at the Uvira, Fizi and Mwenga territories, in the province of South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in the border area with Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania.
