We are now looking for a Project Coordinator for an ECHO-HIP project on building protective environment for people of concern through access to basic education and community-based protection in emergencies in Fizi Territory of South Kivu. The position holder will work with the Project Team of ActionAid to deliver integrated Education in Emergency, Child Protection and General Protection interventions to create cohesive and holistic programmes to respond and mitigate urgent protection risks in the Fizi Territory of South Kivu. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Provide strategic and operational guidance and support to ActionAid on community specific protection related issues.

Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of programmes ensuring that identified protection needs, including an Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) approach, are adequately addressed.

Develop and sustain positive partnership and networking relationships with key stakeholders at local levels, partners and persons of concern to develop and implement integrated strategies that address the key protection priorities, including, for example, child protection, education and SGBV, and solutions approaches.

Provide strategic and operational guidance and support to ActionAid on community specific protection related issues.

Provide oversight responsibility and supervision to project officers and protection monitors to ensure the delivery of project objectives and work plans.

Ensure strict adherence to the grant requirements and policies of ECHO.
Desired Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:**

5 years of relevant job experience with graduate degree (equivalent of a Master’s in Degree in Law, Psychology, Humanitarian or Development Studies or related field with good knowledge of humanitarian conventions and treaties).

Languages: Proficiency in French is required. Fluency in English and Kiswahili will be an advantage. Knowledge of the operating context of DR Congo will be an advantage

Commitment to help persons of concern and willingness to cooperate with counterparts

Good analytical skills, Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural setting

Ability to live and work in the difficult and harsh conditions of developing countries is essential.

Proven ability to work with government authorities, the UN humanitarian system, NGOs, development agencies and community groups during emergency responses.

Applied knowledge of project cycle management including proven experience of leading monitoring and evaluation processes including with a variety of approaches and methodologies.
