Here’s where you come in:

As Emergency Communications Specialist - SHR, you will lead in the development of an emergency communications strategy, ensuring World Vision DRC has increased technical capacity and ability to respond to and manage communications in emergencies. You will deliver high-quality timely content that is used internally and externally, serving advocacy, marketing, and fundraising needs. Ensure appropriate support and strategic focus on Fragile Contexts and highly sensitive operating environments, in alignment with the global strategy Our Promise. You will ensure systems and procedures are in place that guarantees the quality assurance of all communications during all emergencies across the country and provides communications technical support and mentoring to Field, TP, Grants staffs. You will deploy in a surge capacity for relevant emergency responses as required and support the placement of permanent communications staff in large-scale emergency responses.

Requirements include:

• BA in journalism or communications/public relations (preferred).
• At least 4 years prior experience.
• English & French language fluency (written and verbal).
• Excellent writing and photography skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills (specifically with working with people from a variety of cultures)
• High level of confidence and confidentiality.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office and Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Premiere Pro, InDesign).
• Office-based with frequent travel to the field. 70% travel within country to various responses is expected (Beni, Bukavu, Kalemie, Gbadolite, Kananga).
